Several of my favorite places (Palazzo Pitti as well) do not allow cameras, even without flashes. So I've borrowed some images of the works of Fra Angelico (Beato Angelico) which are painted on the walls of the Dominican convent of San Marco which operates today as a museum. Each of the monks' cells contained a fresco painted by Fra Angelico. While the spaces are small and spartan, the religious documentary brushed by Angelico uplifts the soul. The convent space was cool and peaceful. I really enjoyed my visit here.

Cheri and Jen,
BEAUTIFUL PICTURES! Cheri, everything you say is so wonderfully stated. I do believe you missed a calling as a travel guide [, and I mean "guide" in the most respected of ways].
I feel uplifted seeing the pictures of art, food, fauna, flora,...of course, now I'm wondering about the wine. Yesterday, I was having lunch with my childhood friend Melissa in Zionsville, and we stopped in a wine shop. Melissa was looking for a wine with an oaken taste or as she put it, "that takes like the bottom of an oaken barrell". The proprietor edged us to the Mediterranean Room: I saw wines from all over Italy...all looked a bit too dry for me, but Melissa was in heaven.
Loved the wedding dress pictures for Anna :). I took a few days away from the blog [not lack of interest but too much to do], and I'm so glad to read again today.
Keep on travell'in girls,
Marsha
