I love flowers and all things green. I thought I would see more both in Rome and here in Florence. Maybe the weather has just been too warm. Each time I see flowers, I grab my camera! Jen and I went to the Medici Gardens (Giardino dei Semplici--meaning garden for plants necessary for preparing medicines). Now run by the University of Florence, the garden combines formal gardens as well. Most of all, the gardens were a cool place to be on another hot day in Florence.
Guess we're missing Emma kitty, Lula hamster, and Eloise hamster. Every dog we see is cuter than the next. Even pigeons are starting to look good. We ate lunch on a bench in the Oltrarno (other side of the Arno) area and the little wrens were so cute...we fed them the few crumbs from our homemade "Italian" sandwiches. The birds knew they had a good thing going!
