On our first Monday morning in Florence, Jen and I headed for the Mercate Sant'Ambrogio--about 2 blocks south and 1 block west of our apartment. Lavinia, our hostess, says this is the place to shop for fresh veggies, fruits, meats, cheeses, and sundry Italian goodies. All the produce looked freshly picked and scrubbed...and most of all, arranged with a painterly eye for color.

The fruit and veggies look sooooo colorful...just like a painter's palette as you said. Does Jen have any veggie/fruit jewelry ideas. If not, the colors must be inspiring.
